It’s Nice to Meet You

I.  Am.  Freaking.  Out.

In 2 days I have my first appointment to see a fertility specialist.

You can read all about my path to this point (The Beginning…) – but it’s a long read. You might want to prepare some snacks before you start.

Needless to say, I want a baby. And while I’m optimistic that with some expert assistance The Husband and I will realize this dream, I am also impatient. Incredibly, agonizingly impatient.

Over the last few months I have read lots of blogs written by women dealing with their own infertility. It has helped. However I was unable to find a similar blog from someone based in Australia – so I have decided to start my own. My very first blog. If nothing else, maybe this outlet for my irrational, erratic thoughts will mean that my poor husband doesn’t have to put up with quite as much craziness as he otherwise might.

So this is me: The Impatient Optimist.

Hello World Wide Web. It’s nice to meet you.

  1. Welcome to blogging! Good luck with your blog and with IF!

Nice to meet you, too! Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I wish I could tell you more of what to expect at your first appointment, but I’m not sure how much the system differs from what we have in the states.

I brought a print out of the questions on stirrup queen’s blog as a guide for me, I’m not sure how applicable they’ll be for you.

Good luck at the first appointment, it will be great to have a plan and a doc on your side who is just as interested in getting you pregnant as you are. I can’t wait to read how it goes!

    • Hey, thanks for the link to the questions… they’ll come in handy! The health system itself is very different here but it sounds like the IF treatment protocols are somewhat similar.

  3. Good luck at your appointment! So far I think REs have proven to be helpful and it feels nice to make steps towards baby, I hate that out of control feeling! I know I have read some blogs from Australia if I come across them again I will forward. Good luck the blogging community seems to help!
